The International Festival "Oymo-2014" will take place in Bishkek.
On July 25 of this year, the ninth International Festival "Oymo-2014" will begin its work in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. This annual event will be quite significant for the republic both culturally and in terms of tourism. The "Oymo" festival promotes the development of dialogue between various cultures and the establishment of trusting partnerships between the participating countries. This event also helps to develop the tourism industry, the cultural and craft market, and at the international level, it contributes to improving the country's image and spreading ideas of tolerance.
In addition, the festival serves as a stabilizing and positive factor not only in the country but also throughout the entire Central Asian region.
This year, the International Festival "Oymo" will take place in Bishkek from July 25 to 27 at the alley of the Erkindik Boulevard, near the Ala-Too cinema. From July 28 to August 3, the festival will continue at the city park square in Cholpon-Ata.
The main goal of the festival is to support international tourism, craftsmanship, and folklore traditions, as well as to promote Kyrgyzstan as a regional platform for active dialogue between cultures, strengthening mutual understanding and friendship among peoples. The format of the event includes a variety of programs - ceremonial concerts at the opening and closing ceremonies, a craft fair, various master classes, traditions and customs, as well as an exhibition of Kyrgyz artists and ecological actions.
More than 150 craftsmen from Central Asian countries, as well as from Russia, India, Turkey, China, Afghanistan, and several other countries are expected to attend the festival. A large number of tourists and guests are also anticipated.
The organizers of the annual "Oymo" Festival are the Resource Center of the Central Asian Association for the Support of Crafts in Kyrgyzstan (CACSARC-kg) and the Ministry of Information, Tourism, and Culture of the republic.
