The State Geological Agency will hold a national conference on building cooperation and reducing conflicts among stakeholders in the mining industry


The State Agency for Geology and Mineral Resources under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic will hold a two-day national conference on the topic "Building Cooperation and Reducing Conflicts Among Stakeholders in the Mining Industry" from October 2 to 3 of this year on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul.

The main goal of the conference is to develop recommendations for preventing conflicts and strengthening interaction between government structures, mining companies, and local communities.

The meeting will take place within the framework of the "Initiative for Transparent Local Governance and Cooperation" program, which is implemented by the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The conference will be attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Taiyrbek Sarpashev, Minister of Economy Temir Sariev, representatives of the APC of the Kyrgyz Republic, deputies of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, authorized representatives of the Government in 6 regions, heads of local self-government bodies, representatives of mining companies, as well as international and non-governmental organizations.
