The British tabloid listed 10 facts about Kyrgyzstan on Independence Day

Kyrgyz people are known for their kumis — a healing drink made from mare's milk, notes the British publication.

In honor of Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day, the English tabloid Daily Express listed 10 facts about Kyrgyzstan on its website. On Monday, the republic celebrates the 24th anniversary of its independence. The English tabloid presented readers with 10 facts about the country:

The name "Kyrgyzstan" comes from the phrase "kyrylgys kyrk," which refers to 40 tribal clans. They are considered the foundation of the present-day Kyrgyz state;
Kyrgyzstan ranks 40th in the world in per capita tea consumption;
the national flag of Kyrgyzstan features a red field with a round golden sun disc in the center, from which forty evenly spaced rays extend. Inside the sun, there is an image of the crown of a Kyrgyz yurt;
of the countries bordering Kyrgyzstan, only China does not have the suffix "-stan";
its neighbor Uzbekistan is completely surrounded by countries whose names end in "-stan";
the village of Barak is considered the largest exclave of Kyrgyzstan located in Uzbekistan;
the word "one" translates to "bir" in Kyrgyz. Its pronunciation is similar to the English word "beer";
Kyrgyz people are known for their kumis — a healing drink made from mare's milk;
if the name of the country were used in the game "Scrabble" (the Russian name of the game is "Словодел"), it would immediately earn the player 30 points (the game consists of tiles with letters that can be used to form words). The only country name that could earn more points in this game is "Mozambique" in English;
besides Kyrgyzstan, Independence Day is also celebrated on Monday in Malaysia and Trinidad and Tobago.
Daily Express is considered a British tabloid. The website belongs to Express Newspapers, which is owned by billionaire Richard Desmond. Express Newspapers also publishes other tabloids such as the Sunday Express (since 1918), Daily Star, and Daily Star Sunday.
