4) Special cotton paper for different denominations of the som is produced in the United Kingdom and France. During the production of such paper, the first security features are added, such as watermarks and security threads.

7) If you look closely at the banknotes of the fourth series (the newest series of the som, introduced on March 2, 2009) - you can notice that the portrait is made up of small text containing the name and surname of the individual.
