A law regulating artificial intelligence has been adopted in Kazakhstan
The legislative body of Kazakhstan, the Mazhilis, has approved a bill concerning artificial intelligence, which includes provisions on liability for creating deepfakes, as reported by Orda.kz.
According to the new law, administrative liability is introduced for the use of deepfakes.
“Anyone who develops AI-based products is required to inform users that they are interacting with artificial intelligence. We have established appropriate provisions for this. Penalties will be related to administrative liability,” noted Dmitry Mun, the Deputy Minister of AI and Digital Development.
The law will be submitted for the President of Kazakhstan's signature.
