
The increase in rates will be implemented gradually until 2029
The State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced plans to increase excise tax rates on alcohol starting January 1, 2026.
According to the press service of the STS, this decision is the result of a resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, adopted on December 18, 2025. According to this document, excise tax rates on alcohol will be raised from January 1, 2026, until January 1, 2029.
In particular, the excise tax on vodka will be 200 soms per liter starting January 1, 2026.
The STS reminded all participants in the alcohol market and taxpayers of the importance of taking these changes into account when planning their activities and fulfilling tax obligations.
