Earlier, the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration proposed that the holidays on January 8 and 9, 2026, be designated as days off for employees of state and municipal organizations, as well as institutions and enterprises funded by the state budget, working a five-day week. In this regard, it was planned to move:
- the day off from February 7, 2026, to the working day on January 8, 2026;
- the day off from April 25, 2026, to the working day on January 9, 2026.
According to the Labor Code, from January 1 to 7, public holidays are established in Kyrgyzstan.
