According to him, traditionally, New Year events were held in government agencies and ministries, which sometimes led to unjustified expenses. Employees also often gave gifts to their superiors, which took up time and resources.
In light of these factors, it was decided this year to limit the holding of New Year corporate parties and to prohibit leaders from receiving valuable gifts from their subordinates.
However, some leaders misinterpreted these instructions and began to ban New Year celebrations for children. The head of the cabinet emphasized that this ban applies exclusively to government agencies, and banning children's celebrations is not permissible. New Year is a special moment for children, and depriving them of joy is unacceptable," he noted in his social media message.
Earlier, as reported, the head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, called on civil servants to refrain from celebrating corporate parties. The Bishkek mayor's office also prohibited its departments from holding parties. In addition, due to a shortage of electricity, large restaurants and cafes are banned from operating after 10:00 PM. Similar restrictions have also been imposed by the mayor's office of the city of Manas.
