Tashiev reminded that a law was adopted stating that there should be no noisy events in establishments during nighttime. However, according to him, this requirement is ignored in practice.
“I experienced this firsthand when I recently attended a celebration in Bishkek that lasted until midnight, and no one intervened. I also attended an event in Jalal-Abad that continued until 11:00 PM,” he stated, expressing his outrage.
In Tashiev's opinion, local authorities are negligent in enforcing the law.
“The silence law does not work in the regions. The responsibility for its enforcement lies with the mayors, akims, and governors, who, as it seems, ignore their duties,” he noted.
“I appeal to the akims and other leaders: if you cannot implement written instructions, I will make the decision to ban events after 10:00 PM. Cafes and restaurants must close at this time, and if they fail to comply, their electricity will be cut off,” Tashiev added.
“Starting today, November 13, all establishments must cease holding events after 10:00 PM. All events must conclude by this time, including cleanup. If anyone tries to extend the time, it will not work. At 10:00 PM, the lights in the restaurants will be turned off,” he emphasized.Tashiev also warned that if some establishments continue to operate, mayors and akims will be held accountable. He instructed all law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with this order.
Recall that the silence law was adopted in December of last year. It does not prohibit events after 10:00 PM, but it does ban the use of loud music.
