In an interview with Tegion TV, he stated that he has recently traveled extensively across the regions, including Chon-Alai, Osh, Uzgen, Jalal-Abad, and Balakchy. During these meetings, residents mainly expressed dissatisfaction regarding the increase in prices for meat and food products.
“The state is taking all necessary steps. A resolution has been adopted, according to which prices for meat and products must be controlled and remain at a certain level. However, this requirement is not being met. I have seen this myself while communicating with people and observing the markets. In some places, the price of meat reaches 800-900 soms, while in others it fluctuates between 700-750 soms, whereas according to the Cabinet's resolution, it should not exceed 680-700 soms,” Tashiev stated.
“I began to investigate the reasons. It turned out that wholesalers offer meat at a price of 450-500 soms, while resellers sell it at almost double the price,” he added.
“If the wholesale price is 450-500 soms, then the retail price should not exceed 550-600 soms, adding a maximum of 50-100 soms to the cost of one kilogram. However, currently, prices reach 700-900 soms.”According to Tashiev, the inaction of local authorities in controlling food prices is negligence. The head of the GKNB warned officials about possible responsibility for failing to comply with the resolution on state price regulation.
“Who is responsible for monitoring the situation? There is the State Anti-Monopoly Agency and local authorities — akims, mayors, governors. But today they are practically not engaged in price control. Therefore, I appeal to the heads of local authorities: you will bear personal responsibility for the rise in prices in the markets in your regions and for non-compliance with the Cabinet's resolution. No excuses will be accepted,” he emphasized.
“Akim, mayors, governors, if the price of meat in your region exceeds 680-700 soms, you will be held accountable!”“You don’t need to constantly sit in offices; go out to the people, communicate, and find out the real prices in the markets. You should have people who provide you with up-to-date information daily. But, unfortunately, you are not working this way. Therefore, I am giving you a serious warning,” Tashiev concluded.
