According to information from local authorities, on October 23, a raid was conducted in the city organized by the mayor's office and the Osh regional office for antimonopoly regulation, aimed at ensuring compliance with the new state norms for retail prices on meat products.
As a result of the inspection, several traders were found not to be adhering to the established prices. Six owners of meat shops who sold meat at a price of 700–720 soms per kilogram were fined 3,000 soms each.
The city administration noted that the main objective of the raid was to monitor compliance with the approved prices and to prevent illegal price increases for products.
We remind you that in the Osh region, the maximum prices for meat (beef and lamb, excluding the fillet part) range from 620 to 680 soms per kilogram depending on the region.
The price control system will be in effect for 90 days with the possibility of revision in case of market changes. Sellers are required to strictly follow the established tariffs, display prices in their showcases, and use functioning scales. Violations are subject to penalties in accordance with current legislation.
