According to the press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region, on the night of October 22, 2025, around 00:30, employees of the tourism and environmental police, together with workers from the Jeti-Oguz District Internal Affairs Department, conducted a raid and detained a young man from the village of Saruu, born in 1999, on suspicion of illegal fishing.
The detainee was found on the southern bank of the Juuqu River, where he caught four fish belonging to the species "Issyk-Kul trout" using a spear ("dege").
Based on this incident, a criminal case was initiated against the suspect under Article 310 of the Criminal Code, concerning illegal hunting or fishing of fish and aquatic animals.
In accordance with the procedures established by Articles 96 and 97 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the detainee K.A. was placed in a temporary detention facility. Investigative actions are ongoing.
