The land plot was obtained illegally
Police officers detained one of the associates of the leader of the organized crime group Jengo.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the investigation of a criminal case related to the legalization (laundering) of criminal proceeds, a scheme for the illegal registration of a land plot of 1.8 hectares in the city of Osh was uncovered.
As a result of operational-search activities, a person close to Jengo was detained, in whose name this plot is registered. It has been established that this land parcel, obtained through criminal means, was used to conceal and legalize illegally acquired property.
“The plot of 1.8 hectares, which has been preliminarily valued at 43 million 750 thousand soms, has been returned to the state. An investigation is underway to determine the possible involvement of other individuals in these illegal activities, as well as to establish additional facts of theft and legalization of property,” the official statement notes.
