Day of Results: Before the Cold Sets In
The Livestock Breeders' Holiday #throughfedorovseyes
In 1991 – 27 and a half years ago – the cattle breeders of Suusamyr celebrated. The "Day of Livestock Breeders" summed up the results, allowed everyone to relax, and rejoice in the successful outgoing year. Photographer Alexander Fedorov was there. He still has wonderful photos:

“At the end of summer, the Livestock Breeders' Holiday was always held in Suusamyr,” he recounted. “They organized a fair, various competitions, awarded certificates and traveling banners. And it truly was a holiday. They slaughtered a lamb and treated the visiting guests. Everyone wanted to treat you, and they would even be offended if you passed by their yurt.

Then everyone would disperse, and the livestock breeders would slowly start gathering to bring their flocks and herds down to their “winter quarters.” Here’s just a tiny piece of those memories…”
