Employees of the fishery 'Balikchy' released about 100 fry of the Issyk-Kul marinka into Lake Issyk-Kul


Every year, fry of the Issyk-Kul marinka and the naked osman are released into the lake.

Last year, 10,000 fry of the Issyk-Kul marinka and 10,000 fry of the naked osman were released into the lake, while this year only 100 fry of the marinka were released.

The Issyk-Kul marinka is listed in the Red Book as an endangered fish species.

In the past, millions of fry were released into Lake Issyk-Kul, which was once home to over 40 species of fish. Now many of them have disappeared, and some are on the brink of extinction.
