From October 20 to 21, specialists from the Regional Department for Environmental Protection and Technical Supervision in the Issyk-Kul region carried out the cleaning of the waters of Lake Issyk-Kul, as reported by the ecological supervision agency.

During the event, illegally installed synthetic fishing nets that were on the surface of the lake in the areas of the villages of Chon-Oryktu, Oryktu, Jarkynbaev, and Toru-Aygyr were removed.

A total of about 1,600 meters of old nets used for illegal fishing were extracted from the water body.

The agency emphasized that such actions are aimed at improving the ecological condition of Issyk-Kul, protecting aquatic biological resources, and combating poaching.
