Protection of Fish Stocks in Lake Issyk-Kul, Lake Son-Kul, Kara-Suu, and Toktogul Reservoir

In order to reproduce the fish stocks of Lake Issyk-Kul and Son-Kul, 750,000 pieces of Issyk-Kul trout eggs and 11,500,000 pieces of Son-Kul whitefish eggs were laid for incubation.
To date, 253,000 pieces of young Issyk-Kul trout have been released into Lake Issyk-Kul.
Protection of Fish Stocks
To enhance the protection of fish stocks in Lake Issyk-Kul, Son-Kul, Kara-Suu, and Toktogul Reservoir, the staff of the Department of Fisheries regularly conducted round-the-clock raids to protect spawning areas.
In the first quarter of 2015, the Department staff conducted a total of 15 raids against poaching and other violations of fish protection legislation, and compiled 4 reports. Three reports on violations of fish protection legislation were submitted to the investigative authorities, and investigations are ongoing.
A court trial was held in the Jumgal District Court of Naryn Region regarding a violation of fish protection legislation by citizen S. Kydyrtoktoev, who was sentenced to 2 years probation by the court's decision. The Department is working to recover the amount of damage caused to the fish stocks of the water bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic.
