The largest price hike has affected beef (meat from young cows), which now costs 700 soms per kilogram.
“For the meat of a young cow, they are asking for 700 soms, while other beef varies from 650 to 690 soms. The lowest price is for brisket, which costs 650 soms,” sellers share.
Minced meat, which was previously sold for 650 soms, now costs 670 soms per kilogram.
Horse meat has also become more expensive: its price now ranges from 630 to 670 soms, although it was around 620 soms before.
“Currently, there are practically no animals left for slaughter. The animals have not yet returned from the pastures, and many have been sold to resellers who export them abroad, so the number of animals available for slaughter has significantly decreased,” the sellers explained.
- The cost of “uchaa” (the most honorable part of horse meat; the tail or hind part of the carcass intended for the most respected guests) is 800-900 soms per kilogram.
- Chuchuk (horse sausage) costs from 1300 soms and above.
- Lamb is sold at a price of 650 soms per kilogram.
