In the Jayil district of the Chuy region, this year there is a wonderful harvest of wild rose hips, reports Turmush correspondent.

Local residents highly value the fruits of wild rose hips, known as rosehip.

“Many collect rose hips to dry them for brewing in tea or making decoctions. A kilogram of dried fruits on the markets of the Jayil district costs between 100 and 150 soms,” local residents said.

Biologist Irina Stezhko emphasized that rose hips have many beneficial properties due to their high content of vitamin C, B vitamins, and antioxidants.

“They help strengthen the immune system, support cardiovascular health, assist with colds and flu, improve skin condition, and accelerate wound healing. Additionally, rosehip decoction has anti-inflammatory properties, improves digestion, and restores water-electrolyte balance,” she added.

According to her, rosehip tea is recommended for consumption during the autumn-winter period to support immunity. It also helps lower levels of "bad" cholesterol and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Oil extracted from rosehip fruits is beneficial for healing burns, abrasions, and cracks, and it also accelerates the regeneration of skin and mucous membrane cells,” noted the biologist.

Irina Stezhko also warns against the constant consumption of rose hips, as it is a medicinal remedy.

“It is recommended to conduct courses, for example, for 2 months with a break of 1-2 weeks. The daily dose should not exceed 1-2 cups (about 200-250 ml) to avoid possible side effects from excess vitamins and acids,” she concluded.
