As the villagers reported, the road service is supposed to grade the section twice a year; however, despite this, traffic on the road remains extremely difficult. Local residents are asking the authorities to pay attention to the condition of the highway and carry out major repairs.
“The highway Muras – Zheti-Tash – Madygen is currently in very poor condition. People travel on it daily, suffering from dust and potholes. It would be good if the Leilek Road Maintenance Enterprise No. 13 repaired this section at the expense of the republican budget. This issue has been raised repeatedly in meetings, but there have been no results.
Maybe you don’t see it in your SUVs, but people are suffering. This road was built back in Soviet times, it is 40 kilometers long, and it is used by residents of the entire Leilek district — especially from the rural areas of Ken-Talaa, Kulundu, and Zhanı-Zher,” said Muratbek Abdubaliev, a resident of the village of Ken-Talaa.
According to the head of the Leilek Road Maintenance Enterprise No. 13, Keldibek Ganyev, the last time the road was leveled was in August, and a repeat grading is planned before winter arrives.
“To level this section, a grader is needed. Right now we only have one, and it is being used for laying asphalt in another location — we need to finish the work while the weather is still warm. According to the plan, this road is graded twice a year; however, in August we additionally conducted unscheduled grading. The road is generally in satisfactory condition. Before winter, we will carry out another grading. And if everything goes according to plan, we will include the asphalt laying work in the program for the next 2026 year,” Keldibek Ganyev informed.
