The Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, commented on the recent electricity outages in schools after 6:00 PM.

In his opinion, this measure is incorrect, and he urged energy providers to extend the outage time to at least 7:00 PM.

Tashiev noted: "I read information that the lights are turned off in schools after 6:00 PM. This is unacceptable. Even if you have to turn off electricity in other institutions, make an exception in schools at least until 7:00 PM. Children should have the opportunity to leave educational institutions safely, and parents should be able to pick them up."

He added that at 6:00 PM, when the lights go out, it becomes dark outside, making it difficult for children to find their parents or transportation. "I appeal to the energy providers: in schools, especially where classes are held in the second shift, the lights should not be turned off before 7:00 PM. After that time, it can be turned off," Tashiev concluded.

It should be noted that earlier the government imposed restrictions on state institutions, prohibiting the use of outdoor lighting after 6:00 PM. The Ministry of Education reported that due to these measures, schools are also switching to energy-saving mode, and the lights should be turned off within an hour after the last lesson ends. Parents of students in Bishkek are expressing dissatisfaction due to the cancellation of evening clubs.
