The Ministry of Education of Kyrgyzstan has announced the introduction of energy-saving measures in the country's schools.

These measures are the result of a decision made at a cabinet meeting held on November 5, 2025, according to resolution No. 949, concerning the reduction of the electricity deficit.

The ministry clarified that after the completion of classes, no later than one hour afterwards, taking into account the time needed to clean the classrooms, electricity must be turned off.

It is also important to note that these restrictions will not affect engineering systems and equipment responsible for the safety and functioning of buildings.

Furthermore, the new measures will not apply to dormitories and other places where students reside.

The agency also emphasized that changes to the schedule or reduction of class hours are not planned, and the educational process will continue as usual.
