The summer period allowed for energy savings, but with the arrival of winter, this becomes significantly more difficult.
Public figure Rasul Umbetaliev stated that the Ministry of Energy should apologize to the population and take measures to eliminate the electricity shortage during the heating season of 2025-2026. This statement was made in response to warnings from authorities about a possible shortage of resources, as reported by Vesti.kg.
“Not everywhere in the country has access to natural gas and alternative energy sources. Moreover, prices for fuel and lubricants have increased. As a result, electricity is becoming the primary resource necessary for the lives of citizens. The educational process, work, and daily life depend on it. People will naturally express their dissatisfaction. In summer, it was possible to reduce consumption, but in winter, it is much more difficult. We find ourselves in a situation where we are warned about possible restrictions. This indicates the Ministry of Energy's unpreparedness for the heating season and the failure to comply with the directives of the president and the cabinet of ministers,” noted the activist.
In his opinion, it is necessary to implement emergency measures to minimize losses during the winter period and prepare for the spring of next year.
“Perhaps it is worth considering the introduction of a schedule for electricity outages. This would allow people to plan their lives in advance. Otherwise, they may face unexpected outages at work, leading to losses. We need to not only discuss the problem of electricity shortages but also take real measures. The Ministry of Energy must apologize to the citizens and develop appropriate steps to ease our passage through the autumn-winter period. Relying solely on importing the missing electricity from other countries is not enough; they also have their own problems, especially in winter,” added Rasul Umbetaliev.
