The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan is considering the possibility of diversifying the supply of fuel and lubricants (GSM). This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev in an interview with the TASS news agency.
According to him, a decision was previously made at the level of the Eurasian Economic Commission to exempt from duties the supplies of gasoline and GSM not only from Russia but also from other countries.
“Everything will depend on the economic situation,” noted Amangeldiev, responding to a question about the possibility of supplies from Azerbaijan.
He also added that Kyrgyzstan continues to engage in dialogue with Russia regarding GSM supplies. Daniyar Amangeldiev assured that the republic is taking all necessary measures to avoid fuel shortages in the market. “We will do everything possible to keep prices at a stable level and prevent resource shortages,” he concluded.
In addition, the Ministry of Energy previously informed TASS that Kyrgyzstan has requested additional supplies of GSM from Russia on preferential terms. Under existing bilateral agreements, Russia annually supplies 1.2 million tons of GSM to Kyrgyzstan duty-free.
