On October 14, 2025, the chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation under the Cabinet, Jenaly Orozbaev, spoke about the current situation in the fuel and lubricants market in Kyrgyzstan in an interview with the publication Tazabek. He noted that although the situation remains complicated, it is under control.
Orozbaev explained that despite some temporary issues with fuel supplies from Russia, there is no shortage of fuel and lubricants in the country. However, prices for gasoline and diesel fuel continue to rise.
“Currently, we are considering alternative supply routes to prevent possible disruptions in the future. We also held a meeting with oil traders to gather information about stocks, their sufficiency timelines, and expected supply volumes,” he added.
The head of the antimonopoly agency emphasized that there is currently no critical shortage in the market, but the situation remains challenging. “There is no critical situation yet, but difficulties exist. Fuel prices continue to rise,” Orozbaev said.
According to him, there has been a significant increase in gasoline prices in Kyrgyzstan in recent weeks. “You may notice that prices have increased again: AI-92 gasoline now costs an average of 73–73.5 soms, and AI-95 is about 80 soms per liter. We have tried to keep prices stable since the beginning of the year, we had an agreement with oil traders, but under the current conditions, this has become impossible,” he explained.
