In an exclusive interview with the news agency RIA Novosti, Imangali Tasmagambetov, the Secretary General of the CSTO, expressed high appreciation for Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship in the organization. He emphasized the important aspects of joint work aimed at ensuring security in the region.
According to Tasmagambetov, "the political leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic, as the chairing country of the CSTO, is well aware of the specifics and problems of Central Asia and is actively working on stabilizing the situation in this region."
He also noted that many security tasks are currently being addressed in Tajikistan, where joint exercises with CSTO peacekeeping forces called "Indestructible Brotherhood-2025" are taking place. In addition, special exercises on radiation, chemical, and biological protection and medical support, named "Barrier-2025," have been organized.
The Secretary General emphasized that in the context of the complex situation in the Eurasian space, it is important to ensure the readiness of collective forces and resources to accomplish the assigned tasks, which is becoming increasingly relevant and significant.
