
During his interview, al-Talbani also spoke about the monstrous torture that prisoners endured. According to him, just two weeks ago, guards "burst into the cells with gas canisters and sprayed them directly in the rooms."
Since his abduction a year ago, he has constantly been subjected to torture. After his release, he met with his family at Nasr Hospital in Khan Younis. Ahmed expressed gratitude to everyone who participated in the exchange, as a result of which Israel released 1,968 Palestinians, including 250 sentenced to life imprisonment, in exchange for 20 Israeli prisoners of war.
Despite the destruction in his hometown of Jabalia, Talbani noted: "If everything is destroyed — we will rebuild. A person who loves their land must show patience."
His wife, Hanan, cannot find the words to describe her feelings. "Our happiness cannot be expressed in words. We will restore what was destroyed by genocide," she says.
Since the beginning of October 2023, Israeli strikes have resulted in the deaths of about 68,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children, turning Gaza into an unlivable place.
