Parents of the students expressed their dissatisfaction in a WhatsApp group, stating that the children now feel embarrassed when using the restrooms due to the presence of cameras. The activist decided to check the situation and visited the educational institution.
On site, he noticed that cameras were installed in both the women's and men's restrooms, and in the women's outdoor restrooms, they were directed straight at the toilets without doors. Cameras were also found inside the building, positioned above the stalls.
“First, I inspected the outdoor restroom and indeed found cameras. Then, after getting consent from the girls, I entered the indoor restroom and saw that the cameras also look down on the stalls from above. The situation in the boys' restroom is similar: cameras capture the urinals. The girls' outdoor restroom has no doors,” the activist reported.
After this, the activist filed a complaint with the principal, to which she responded aggressively and called the police.
“I explained to her that installing cameras in restrooms violates the law and the Constitution. In response, she stated that this is a restricted facility and that I had no right to film the restroom, after which she called the police. I was taken to the station, where I filed a complaint against the school principal and submitted complaints to the prosecutor's office and the education department of the Sverdlovsk district,” he added.
