Spring
Once upon a time, in ancient times, after fierce battles with invaders, during a period of cold and hunger, the Kyrgyz found themselves on the brink of extinction and were forced to relocate to another area. Considering that the journey would be long, it was decided, at the suggestion of the leader, not to take along the seriously ill and elderly. Leaving their familiar lands, most of the Kyrgyz set off on their journey. Only one of the horsemen did not want to part with his father and hid him in a chest.
Days, weeks, and months passed. The weary and hungry travelers got lost in the endless desert, where there was no drinking water. The people were in complete despair, and then the khan announced that if anyone among them could find a source of water and save the others from perishing, he would share his power with that person.
Hearing this, the young man secretly informed his old father about the khan's proposal. The wise elder told his son that he needed to release a cow from the herd. And where it stops and starts sniffing, that is the place to dig to find a spring. The son did as his father advised. And indeed, after a short time, water was found, and all the travelers were saved.
Then the khan asked the horseman to reveal the secret, and the young man told the truth about his father.
The khan kept his word - he appointed the wise man as his chief advisor.
Since then, it is said among the Kyrgyz: never abandon your elders to fate.
