Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, expressed his condolences to the families affected by the recent tragedies in Osh and the village of Novopokrovka in the Issyk-Ata region. This information was announced by the press secretary of the head of state, Askhat Alagozov.
“With great sorrow, I learned about the fire in Osh that claimed the lives of six people — a mother and her five children, as well as the tragedy at the factory in Novopokrovka, where an explosion of a cement tank led to the deaths of two workers,” the president noted.
He added: “On behalf of the citizens of Kyrgyzstan and on my own behalf, I express my sincere condolences to all who have lost their loved ones. I share your pain and grief. May the Almighty grant you strength and patience in these difficult times, and may the souls of the departed find eternal peace.”
The head of state also reported that government agencies would provide support to the families of the deceased and the injured. He instructed the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other relevant agencies to take all necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
“With the onset of cold weather, the risk of fires increases due to the use of electric heaters and heating devices in homes and workplaces. It is important to conduct preventive measures and inform the population about safety measures,” Japarov added.
According to the press center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as a result of the fire in Osh, a 34-year-old woman and her five children aged 13, 11, 9, 6, and 2 years old died. A report of the fire in a residential building on Orozbekova Street was received on October 22, 2025, at 5:52 AM.
The fire started around 3:30 in the basement of the building and quickly engulfed the entire house. One firefighting team was called to extinguish the fire, and the flames were localized by 6:25, but efforts to fully extinguish it continued.
The head of the family was working in South Korea at the time. Initial data indicate that the cause of the fire was an electric stove, as repairs were being carried out in the house and the heater was turned on due to the cold.
Fire service personnel report that upon arrival at the scene, the house was already engulfed in flames.
