The ceremonial opening of a new children's wing at the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital took place in Bishkek, attended by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
During his speech, Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of the infectious disease service for ensuring epidemiological safety in the country. He noted that the infectious diseases hospital plays a key role in protecting against the spread of diseases.
“This hospital is the main barrier in the fight against infections. Here, patients are isolated, and sources of infection are localized, preventing their further spread. We all realized the significance of this institution during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the most severe patients were treated here and the entire system was coordinated,” he said.
Kasymaliev expressed gratitude to the medical staff for their dedication and professionalism.
“You tackle complex tasks every day, risking your health. Thanks to your work, the health and safety of citizens are protected,” he added.
The new three-story building opened at the hospital is designed for the treatment of children with infectious diseases and meets modern medical standards. It includes isolated boxes, air ventilation and filtration systems, and creates comfortable conditions for young patients and their parents. The area around the hospital has also been improved, and modern diagnostic and treatment technologies have been implemented.
“Now our young patients will be able to receive medical assistance in safe and comfortable conditions that meet international standards. This event is of particular significance for our entire healthcare system,” noted the head of government.
On behalf of President Sadyr Japarov, he congratulated the hospital staff on the opening of the new wing and thanked everyone who participated in the implementation of this project.
Kasymaliev also emphasized the importance that the state attaches to the development of healthcare.
“Previously, about 600 facilities were built annually in Kyrgyzstan, and by 2025, more than 3,000 will be constructed with state budget funds, including 32 medical institutions. Over the past two years, the healthcare budget has increased from 22 to 49 billion soms. For hemodialysis, 2.5 billion soms will be allocated in 2025, which is 8 times more than in 2022. By 2030, it is planned to increase medical funding to 130 billion soms,” he added.
Kasymaliev noted that systematic work in the healthcare sector is aimed at strengthening the health of citizens and developing human capital, which in turn will create a sustainable future for the country.
“The health of the nation is the foundation of a strong economy and development potential. May our children grow up healthy, and every citizen of Kyrgyzstan live in peace and prosperity,” concluded the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.
