According to a statement by Kaia Kallas, head of European diplomacy, the European Union has approved a new, 19th package of sanctions against Russia.

As part of this package, the restrictions apply not only to Russian companies and banks but also to businesses from Central Asia, India, China, and Thailand.

The sanctions list includes 21 individuals and 42 legal entities, among which are companies from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, suspected of assisting in circumventing previously imposed restrictions. They are prohibited from conducting transactions with European counterparties and accessing international payment systems.

The complete ban on the import of liquefied natural gas from Russia will come into effect on April 25, 2026, for short-term contracts, and on January 1, 2027, for long-term contracts.

Additionally, the sanctions target a "shadow fleet" consisting of 117 tankers involved in transporting Russian oil, as well as the companies "Rosneft" and "Gazpromneft".

Among the new sanctioned entities are 12 companies from China and Hong Kong, three companies from India, and two from Thailand, accused of supplying dual-use goods, including electronics and components for military purposes.

The movement of Russian diplomats within the European Union is also restricted to counteract destabilization.

According to Bloomberg, the new package includes measures against five Russian banks, cryptocurrency exchanges, and oil traders operating through Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, the UAE, Paraguay, and Hong Kong.

Additionally, bans have been introduced on the supply of roses, rhododendrons, and azaleas to Russia, as well as on the export of leaves, tree branches, parts of plants, and flowers without buds, herbs, mosses, and lichens. The export of plastic toys with motors to Russia is also prohibited.
