The Second Educational Exhibition-Fair of Russian Universities in Kyrgyzstan

From April 17 to 19, 2015, the II Exhibition-Fair of Educational Organizations of the Russian Federation "Bishkek-2015" is taking place in Bishkek at the K. Bayalinov Republican Library for Children and Youth.

The exhibition was supported by the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Public Fund "Moscow Classics" with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Education Department of the Bishkek City Hall, and the K. Bayalinov Republican Library for Children and Youth.

Fifteen higher educational institutions from various regions of Russia are participating in the event, which is being held in Kyrgyzstan for the second consecutive year – Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) in Moscow, All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation (Moscow), Plekhanov Russian University of Economics (Moscow), Kursk State University (Kursk), Far Eastern Federal University (Vladivostok), Tyumen State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (Tyumen), North Caucasus Federal University (Stavropol), Ural Federal University (Yekaterinburg), Altai State Technical University named after I.I. Polzunov (Barnaul), Kazan National Research Technological University (Kazan), Far Eastern State Transport University (Khabarovsk), Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University (Novosibirsk), Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University (Krasnoyarsk), Armavir State Pedagogical Academy (Armavir), Ufa State University of Economics and Service (Ufa).

Over one and a half thousand high school students from Bishkek and the Chui region will visit the exhibition over three days.

The exhibition will feature press conferences with university representatives, presentations of educational institutions, school visits, testing, and subject Olympiads. The goal of the exhibition is to familiarize future students with Russian educational programs, provide detailed information about specialties and levels of training, admission rules to universities, features of education, opportunities for research work, and scholarship programs for talented applicants.

The exhibition-fair will allow Kyrgyz citizens to directly assess the advantages of various Russian universities, receiving firsthand detailed information about leading Russian educational organizations.

The market for educational services in Kyrgyzstan is quite broad and diverse. However, despite the wide range of offerings, studying in Russia remains highly relevant for many young Kyrgyz citizens. The quality of teaching, the use of modern technologies in the learning process, the recognition of diplomas, the variety of specialties, and their demand in the labor market are all crucial factors in the choice of study location in Russia for applicants from the republic.

One of the fundamental factors for attracting students from Kyrgyzstan to study at Russian universities is a good command of the Russian language.

During a meeting between representatives of Russian universities and the Acting Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in the Kyrgyz Republic, Nikolai Mikhailovich Tishchenko, issues of enhancing cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in the educational sphere, activating the participation of universities in attracting applicants from Kyrgyzstan, and establishing bilateral and multilateral connections between Russian and Kyrgyz educational institutions were discussed.

The exhibition is widely covered in the media and has generated significant public resonance, laying the groundwork for substantial intensification of cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in the educational sphere.
