Kyrgyzstan - Bishkek
Bishkek (Kyrgyz: Бишкек) is the capital of Kyrgyzstan and the largest city in the country. It constitutes a special administrative unit and is a city of republican subordination. Old names include Pishpek and Frunze (named after M. V. Frunze).
Population — 874,400 residents (2012).
The city is located in the north of Kyrgyzstan, in the Chui Valley, at the foothills of the Tian Shan mountains, 40 km north of the Kyrgyz Range at an altitude of 700—900 m above sea level, 25 km from the border with Kazakhstan. The area of the city is 169.6 km².
