He noted that communication with Putin is always productive, but does not lead to concrete results.
Additionally, Trump commented on the territorial ambitions of the Russian president, expressing the opinion that Putin seeks to gain everything, not just a part.
“I have always believed that he wants it all, but it seems he is now more inclined to negotiate. I believe he is ready for a deal. We’ll see, we’ll see. We don’t want him to get everything,” emphasized the head of the White House.
Earlier, Trump announced his second meeting with Putin in Hungary.
He mentioned that the meeting was supposed to take place in Budapest to try to resolve the "shameful" war between Russia and Ukraine.
Hungary promised to ensure Vladimir Putin's unhindered entry to participate in negotiations with Trump.
According to the European Commission, the sanctions do not prevent the entry of the President of Russia and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov into the EU territory.
So far, Moscow has not commented on Trump's decision to cancel the meeting with Putin.
