According to Trump, China's actions, including threats to restrict the export of rare earth metals, could "paralyze global trade." He noted that Beijing's behavior is becoming increasingly hostile, and China is effectively "holding the world hostage."

The situation between the U.S. and China is escalating, casting doubt on the upcoming meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping at the APEC summit, which will take place in South Korea.

Trump expressed doubt about the appropriateness of this meeting, stating, "Now, it seems there is no point in meeting." This was supposed to be the first face-to-face communication between the U.S. president and the Chinese leader since Trump's return to the White House.

Against the backdrop of the threat of a trade war, American markets reacted with a sharp decline: the S&P 500 index lost 2.7%, while Nasdaq fell by 3.7%. Companies closely tied to China, such as Apple and Nvidia, were particularly hard hit.
