According to reports from Israeli media, Sara Netanyahu attempted to convince ministers who had previously refused to sign the appeal that the pardon is a timely measure. She also noted that U.S. President Donald Trump supports this initiative and that the accusations against her husband are "unjust" and unfounded.

Israeli media also emphasize that some ministers perceive the letter as an informal gesture of support, initiated by Environment Minister Idit Silman, who organized the collection of signatures.

It should be noted that on October 13, U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking in the Israeli parliament, called on Isaac Herzog to pardon Benjamin Netanyahu.

On October 21, Israeli media reported that Idit Silman had already sent a letter to President Herzog signed by 14 ministers from the "Likud" party with a similar request.

Netanyahu's Corruption Cases

On November 21, 2019, former Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit initiated three criminal cases against Netanyahu on charges of bribery, breach of trust, and using his position for personal gain.

He became the first Prime Minister of Israel to be tried while in office. The first hearing in the case took place on May 24, 2020, in the Jerusalem District Court, and on December 10, 2024, he testified for the first time in the Tel Aviv District Court.

Netanyahu is involved in three cases known as "Case 1000," "Case 2000," and "Case 4000," where he is accused of corruption, fraud, and abuse of power.
