Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Joomart Otorbaev met with Honorary Consuls of the Kyrgyz Republic abroad

Today, October 22, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Joomart Otorbaev held a meeting with the Honorary Consuls of the Kyrgyz Republic abroad.

Welcoming the Honorary Consuls, the Prime Minister noted that over the years of sovereignty, Kyrgyzstan has achieved fundamental changes in both domestic and foreign policy, developed core principles, and defined priority areas for the country's foreign policy activities. An important component in this area is the transition to greater openness of society.

“We view the institution of Honorary Consuls of Kyrgyzstan abroad as one of the important channels for promoting Kyrgyzstan's image in the world. Together, we must ensure the most favorable conditions for advancing the national interests of the republic on the international stage and implementing democratic and market reforms,” said Joomart Otorbaev.

During the meeting, the Head of Government drew the Honorary Consuls' attention to actively assisting in attracting investments, establishing and developing trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, and scientific-technical cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the countries where the consuls are located.

“The current trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian ties between Kyrgyzstan and other states require reaching a higher level. Today, Kyrgyzstan expects an influx of investments, new knowledge, and the best global practices. The protection of the rights and interests of our citizens and companies in the countries where you are located should undoubtedly also be a focus for the Honorary Consuls,” emphasized Joomart Otorbaev.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the issue of promoting a positive image of Kyrgyzstan and its tourist attractiveness by informing citizens of neighboring and distant foreign countries about the political, economic, and social transformations taking place in Kyrgyzstan.

“Kyrgyzstan will continue to work systematically with the Honorary Consuls of the Kyrgyz Republic abroad, which will allow the Government to carry out effective work in the countries where the consuls are located,” concluded the Head of Government.

The meeting was attended by Honorary Consuls from Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, and Japan.
