Nowruz is a bright and kind holiday that unites all of us, Kyrgyzstanis.

The Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Damira Niyazalieva, who is on a working trip to the Jalal-Abad region, participated in the festive events dedicated to the celebration of the spring equinox day – "Nowruz".

Speaking to the residents and guests of the regional center — the city of Jalal-Abad, Damira Niyazalieva congratulated all the residents of the region on the holiday of "Nowruz" on behalf of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.

“Nowruz is a bright, kind, and soulful holiday that unites all Kyrgyzstanis. The history of the Nowruz holiday spans over 5,000 years and during this time it has become one of the most important holidays for many hundreds of millions of people. In Kyrgyzstan, "Nowruz", like in many countries, is celebrated on March 21, the day of the spring equinox. For us, "Nowruz" is primarily a celebration of the arrival of spring, the awakening of nature, and the beginning of field work. On this festive day, a festive table is set, where the main dish is sumalak — a special ritual food made from flour and sprouted wheat, which is served to guests. Considering the traditions established on this day, I urge you all to forget grievances and quarrels, to forgive your enemies, as the holiday should be welcomed with a light heart, unburdened by the weight of negative emotions and memories,” said the Vice Prime Minister.

At the end of her speech, Vice Prime Minister Damira Niyazalieva wished all Kyrgyzstanis peace, harmony, prosperity, and flourishing on this festive day.

At the conclusion of her working trip to the Jalal-Abad region, Vice Prime Minister Damira Niyazalieva participated in the opening ceremony of a new school in the village of Yrys in the Suzak district, the construction of which began with a stimulating grant in 2008. The new school, costing 40 million soms, is designed for 240 student places and was built to replace the old building erected in 1932.
