In order to control the price situation in the coal extraction and sales market, to curb price increases in the secondary market, and to ensure compliance with the provisions of Article 9 of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Competition," the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Joomart Otorbaev, signed a government resolution "On the introduction of state regulation of coal prices in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic."
This document establishes a mechanism for state price regulation, which will be implemented in the shortest possible time.
According to the government resolution, the maximum price level for coal will be set uniformly for each region (district) of the republic, which will allow the population to be supplied with fuel at affordable prices during the heating season of 2014-2015.
In addition, it will be possible to reduce the number of intermediaries and the level of costs unjustifiably included in the price of coal.
It should be noted that according to Article 9 of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Competition," state price regulation may be introduced for a period not exceeding 90 calendar days.
Thus, the government resolution "On the introduction of state regulation of coal prices in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic" ensures transparency in the formation of prices (tariffs) for this type of fuel and provides end consumers with coal at affordable prices.
