90 Years of Kyrgyz Sport
On April 6, a solemn event dedicated to the Day of Physical Culture and Sports Workers took place at the Koshomkul Sports Palace in the capital.
This holiday is celebrated in many countries around the world, including our own, but this year was particularly significant for Kyrgyz sport - in 2015, domestic sports turns 90 years old! Many various events dedicated to this date are ahead, and this festive evening was one of the first.
A photo exhibition was organized in the hall of the Sports Palace, through which guests learned about the sporting life of all structural divisions of the country. Sports veterans, renowned coaches, and retired workers from sports agencies occupied honored places in the hall. The stage and hall were festively decorated.
A documentary film showcasing the development of sports in the country was presented to the attendees. The audience was amazed at how popular domestic sports were in the past, and the appearance of many heroes of Kyrgyz sports on screen, such as Orzubek Nazarov, Raatbek Sanatbaev, Kanat Begaliev, and Kanybek Osmonaliev, was met with thunderous applause. Special excitement was caused by footage of Ruslan Tyumenbaev. A few minutes later, the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in Beijing in Greco-Roman wrestling, now the deputy director of the Olympic Training Center for national teams, appeared at the microphone. Ruslan Tyumenbaev delivered congratulatory speeches following all the official figures.
On this evening, physical culture and sports workers were congratulated by Deputy Prime Minister Damira Niyazalieva, as well as the head of the social policy department of the President's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, Gulmira Kudayberdieva.

Today, athletes are becoming some of the most popular people in the country. The number of various sports is increasing every year. A healthy lifestyle is the way of life for a large number of Kyrgyzstani people. Thanks to experienced mentors, Kyrgyzstan is gaining new champions who represent our country at international tournaments. To everyone who considers physical culture and sports a part of their life, I sincerely wish you willpower and dedication in your challenging but noble work, perseverance in achieving your goals, and new star moments in the glory of Kyrgyz sports!
