Shevchenko's Response to Cejudo's Challenge
Double UFC champion Henry Cejudo proposed to fight Valentina Shevchenko. The public considered the fighter's statement to be nothing more than a joke or part of a publicity stunt, but Shevchenko herself has already responded with agreement.
Up to now, there has not been a single match in MMA between a man and a woman, and in general, it is not customary in sports to organize competitions between representatives of different genders.
The champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the flyweight division Valentina Shevchenko stated that she is ready to hold an intergender match with the title holder of the organization in the bantamweight and flyweight divisions among men, Henry Cejudo.
“I would never refuse such a fight; I am not afraid of anyone. I have already said that I am ready for any opponent in the octagon,” Shevchenko's words are quoted by ESPN.
Recall that Cejudo declared his intention to defeat Shevchenko in a title fight and become the first intergender champion in the history of the promotion.
The American has already challenged another female champion — the holder of the belts in the bantamweight and featherweight divisions, Amanda Nunes.
Earlier, Shevchenko stated that Cejudo needs to be more careful with his wishes.
