The first Sports Awards 2014 ceremony was held in Kyrgyzstan

For the first time in the history of sports in Kyrgyzstan, the National Philharmonic in Bishkek hosted the Sports Awards 2014 ceremony, organized by the sports newspaper Top.kg.

Before the awards ceremony began, athletes walked the red carpet with their companions.

At the official opening, the founder of the Top.kg newspaper, Dinara Orozbaeva, welcomed the guests and nominees, noting that this event is being held for the first time and will become an annual tradition.

"Allow me to congratulate you on the end of the past and the beginning of the new sports season. We decided to award athletes annually to promote domestic sports," said Orozbaeva.

After that, athletes and workers in this field who contributed to the development of sports in the country were presented with letters of appreciation.

The first to take the stage was the winner in the "Best Young Athlete" category. This title went to Azamat Melisbekov, captain of Bishkek's "Dordoi." The award was presented by the evening's guest, singer Sultan Sadyraliyev, who performed a couple of songs beforehand.

In the "Junior" age category, the winner was kickboxer Ulanbek Kasymbekov.

Next, the nominees for the "Best Wrestler of the Year" category were introduced. The names mentioned were Kanybek Jolchubekov, Samat Nadyrbek uulu, Magomed Musaev, Elaman Dogdurbek uulu, Janarbek Kenzheev, and Ruslan Tsarev. The winner in this category was Janarbek Kenzheev, who became the Asian champion last year and brought home a bronze medal from the Asian Games.

It is worth noting that to determine the winner, a two-stage competition was held. First, online and SMS voting took place. The final decision was made by a commission that included Orzubek Nazarov, Kanybek Osmonaliev, Almaz Kasenov, and Meklis Koshaliev.

Next, the best football player of Kyrgyzstan for 2014 was invited to the stage. This title went to Kairat Zhyrgalbek uulu, a player from "Abdysh-Ata." The award was presented to him by former mayor of Bishkek Isa Omurkulov. It should be noted that in this category, six other athletes were also competing for the title, including Azamat Baymatov and Valery Kichin.

Then, the chairman of the city sports committee, Sheishenkul Bakirov, presented the award for the best volleyball player of the year to Murat Isakov, a player from the national champion "Osh Bazy."

World billiards champion Kanybek Sagynbaev awarded the best sambist of the year, Zhanibek Amatov. Kylch Sarkarbaev was recognized as the best among fighters in mixed martial arts, with the award presented to him by the director of the state enterprise "Management of Sports Facilities and Sports Support," Edil Kasenov.

The nominees for the title of "Best Boxer of the Year" included Akjol Sulaymanbekov, Turat Osmonov, Azat Usenaliev, Omurbek Malabekov, and Ermek Sakenov. Ultimately, the award went to Turat Osmonov, a bronze medalist from the 2014 Asian Games.

The title of "Best Female Athlete of Kyrgyzstan 2014" was contested by six girls - Shahriza Khalilova (Muay Thai), Elza Abdykadyrova (alys), Aisuluu Tynibekova (wrestling), Ksenia Palkina (tennis), and Zhanil Okoyeva (weightlifting). This award was won by Tynibekova, who became a medalist at the Asian Games and the Asian Championship last year.

"First of all, the result is important, as women's wrestling is an Olympic sport. Thank you to the commission for paying attention to this. We have already made plans for the next two years. First, we are preparing to win a license for the 2016 Olympics, and then to win medals at these Games. I consider this the most important," shared Tynibekova, noting that she was behind other contenders in the SMS voting and did not expect to receive the award.

Also nominated for the title of best coach of the year were Artur Son (sambo), Kanat Begaliev (Greco-Roman wrestling), Nurbek Izabekov (women's wrestling), Mirlan Eshenov (football), Erken Akramov (cycling), Ruslan Madzhinov (freestyle wrestling), and Adylkan Bekbolotov (boxing). By unanimous decision, the award went to Bekbolotov.

Additionally, the best in alys wrestling in the country was Nurbek Akanov, and in kurash wrestling, it was Nurbek Kozhobekov. Among kickboxers, the title of best went to Alexey Fedoseev.

The Football Federation of Kyrgyzstan was recognized as the best among six federations in sports wrestling, volleyball, sambo, and boxing.

Vice President of the Football Federation Asylbek Kadraliev commented on his award: "Without diminishing the merits of other federations and not fearing loud statements, I can say that the commission's decision was more than worthy. Of course, fans voted, but there are nominations where a group of experts should really decide, not just how many medals the federation has brought, but what work it has done. If we are recognized for the first time in Asia, then within the country, we must be the best. Yes, we do not have medals, but I never tire of repeating that the main task and concern of sports is the health of the nation. In this light, football is the number one sport in the country because it is the most popular and mass."

The football club of the year was "Dordoi," which won the championship title, the Kyrgyzstan Cup, and the Super Cup. The best sports clubs in the country were recognized as "Muhammed-Umar" (Osh) and "Dordoi" (Bishkek). Philanthropists of the year were Suyun Omurzakov and Edil Kasenov. A special prize from the founder of the Top.kg newspaper was also awarded to Maksat Musabaev.

The evening was accompanied by a concert program. The KVN team "Monica Bellucci," dance groups We'll be, as well as singers Gulzhigit Kalykov, rapper Dobr, and others performed before the athletes.
