Kyrgyzstani athlete Munarbek Seyitbek uulu took third place in the weight category up to 60 kg according to World Boxing, as reported by Prosports.kz.
The ranking update occurred on October 17. Seyitbek uulu managed to score 975 points, which became possible due to his successful performances on the international stage, including winning a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Paris.
In addition to him, other Kyrgyzstani boxers also made it to the ranking:
Ihtiyar Nishonov, who is in 7th place in the up to 70 kg category;
Nuradin Rustambek uulu, who is in 11th position in the up to 75 kg weight class.
When compiling the new ranking, points earned at the World Boxing Challenge, World Cups, World Championships, and the Olympic Games were taken into account.
Representatives of World Boxing noted that in the future, the results of continental championships will also influence the awarding of ranking points.
The World Boxing ranking serves as a key tool for determining the seeding of athletes in major international competitions, such as World Championships and continental championships.
Munarbek Seyitbek uulu's achievement of entering the TOP-3 has become an important event for Kyrgyz boxing, highlighting its high level on the world sports stage.
