Led by Azat Erkimbaev, the Egyptian national team in Greco-Roman wrestling won the youth world championship held in Serbia. This was made possible thanks to his experience, as he was previously the coach of the Kyrgyzstan national team. This information was published on the U23 World Championships website here.

Recall that in August, Erkimbaev signed a three-year contract with the Egyptian team, which will be in effect until the conclusion of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, according to earlier information.

This season, the team first competed at the World Championship in Croatia and then at the youth world championship in Serbia, where they managed to win two medals — one gold and one bronze.

In the weight category up to 67 kilograms, the gold medal was won by Mohamed Hassan Ahmed Abdelrahim, while his teammate Adham Ayman Garib Abdu El-Sayed took third place in the category up to 63 kilograms. El-Sayed won the bronze match against Kyrgyz wrestler Kuttubek Abdurazakoff.

Unfortunately, the Kyrgyzstan team was unable to win any medals at this tournament.
