World Championship (U-23): Nurbolot Toktogonov will compete for bronze in the tournament

At the Youth World Championship in Serbia, another athlete from Kyrgyzstan will compete for the bronze medal.

The competition, featuring athletes under 23 years old, started on October 20 in the city of Novi Sad.

Nurbolot Toktogonov represents the country in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 130 kg.

He began his journey in the 1/16 finals, where he achieved two early victories, advancing to the quarterfinals. However, at this stage, he suffered a defeat against an Iranian wrestler.

The Iranian reached the finals, and Toktogonov was given the opportunity to continue competing by participating in the consolation tournament for the bronze medal.

In the first round of the consolation tournament, the Kyrgyzstani will face the 19-year-old European champion among youth (U-17) and juniors (U-20) from Georgia.

The matches will begin at 14:00 Bishkek time.
