Former coach of the Kyrgyzstan national team won a gold medal at the World Championship with the Egyptian national team

Azat Erkimbaev, who previously led the Kyrgyzstan national team in Greco-Roman wrestling, won a gold medal at the Youth World Championship in Serbia, competing for the Egyptian team.

Erkimbaev's contract with the Egyptian team was signed at the end of August and is set for three years, covering the period up to the 2028 Olympic Games, which will take place in Los Angeles. His debut on the international stage in this new role was at the World Championship in Croatia.

At the Youth World Championship in Serbia, the Egyptian team achieved significant success, winning two medals. In the 67 kg weight category, the championship title was claimed by Mohamed Hassan Ahmed Abdelrahim, while Adham Ayman Garib Abdu El-Sayed took third place in the 63 kg weight class.

It is worth noting that El-Sayed won the bronze match against Kyrgyz wrestler Kuttubek Abdurazakoff.

Meanwhile, the Kyrgyzstan national team in Greco-Roman wrestling finished the World Championship in Serbia without any medals.
