Kyrgyz athlete Aisuluu Tynybekova won the gold medal at the World Wrestling Championship in Nur-Sultan. This is the first gold medal in the history of Kyrgyzstan at this tournament.

In the final, Tynybekova defeated Bulgarian athlete Taybe Mustafa Yusein with a score of 5:3.

On August 19, in the semifinals, she won with a score of 7:0 against North Korean athlete Jong Sim Rim. In the quarterfinals, she triumphed over Ukrainian competitor Yuliya Tkach-Ostapchuk with a score of 9:6. Prior to that, in the 1/16 finals, she defeated a Mexican athlete, and in the 1/8 finals, she beat a Japanese competitor.

It is worth noting that by reaching the semifinals of the championship, Tynybekova secured a license for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

This license became the fourth for Kyrgyzstan. Earlier, licenses for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics were secured by Aytbek Azizbekov (Greco-Roman wrestling), Denis Petrashov (swimming), and Yuliya Andreeva (athletics).

Aisuluu was born in 1993 in Mailuu-Suu. In 2012, she participated in the London Olympics but finished only 13th. In 2013, she won a bronze medal at the Universiade. In 2014, she became the silver medalist at the Asian Championship and the bronze medalist at the Asian Games. In 2015, she won a silver medal at the Asian Championship. In 2016, she became the Asian champion but finished only 5th at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. In 2017, she again became the Asian champion, won a gold medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games, a silver medal at the Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games, and a bronze medal at the World Championship. In 2018, she became the silver medalist at the Asian Games. In 2019, she became the Asian champion.
