The discussion presents a case where the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Daiyr Kosherov, refused to speak in the state language, stating that he is more comfortable speaking in Russian. This incident is commented on by the portal Abai.kz, which points to the sad consequences of such practices for the status of the Kazakh language. It is also discussed that such actions by officials exacerbate the language problem in the country.

The author notes that many perceive the deputy's reaction as an attempt to create hype, but in reality, it is necessary to recognize that the criticism of officials speaking Russian is pointless. The language situation in the country is complex, and its roots go back to historical circumstances. It is recalled how Kazakhstan's ambassador to Russia, Dauren Abaev, emphasized that the majority of Kazakhstanis speak Russian.

The problem is exacerbated by the fact that the younger generation, which grew up during independence, did not receive adequate education in their native language. An example is the recent statement by Olzhas Baidildinov, who called for Russia's intervention due to the increasing number of people speaking Kazakh. If deputies truly cared about the language, they would have long ago started fighting against Russification, the author believes.

Kazakh Pakistanis: Hope for Support from the Homeland

The situation with ethnic Kazakhs in Pakistan is becoming increasingly critical, as reported by Adyrna.kz.

After the deterioration of relations with Afghanistan, local authorities began mass raids against refugees, affecting Kazakhs who have lived in the country for many years.

Every week, there are cases of Kazakhs being detained and deported to Afghanistan, despite having documents confirming their status. In Karachi, locals claim that the issued papers have no real power, and the process of obtaining them is extremely difficult.

The responses from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Pakistan to requests for assistance in returning compatriots to their homeland are vague, and the cases of Kazakhs will only be considered in December 2025.

While helping compatriots is important, it is necessary for support to first come from Pakistan, where they are currently located, and only then can the issue of resettlement be addressed.

Islamic Financial Products in Kazakh Banks

In Kazakhstan, it is planned to allow banks to open "Islamic windows," which will offer financial services compliant with Sharia law, reports Democrat.kz.

The agency for regulating the financial market of the country plans to implement a new model that will allow traditional banks to provide Islamic financial services without creating separate structures.

All services will be conducted separately, and the company will create a Sharia compliance board. This model is already successfully operating in other countries, such as the UAE and Malaysia.

It is interesting to see how the Islamic system, based on the absence of interest, will interact with traditional banking services and how this will affect the level of household debt.

Bulат Utemuratov and His Exit from Gold Mining

Bulat Utemuratov, one of Kazakhstan's well-known oligarchs, has sold his gold mining business and focused on finance and telecommunications, reports Nege.kz.

He completed the sale of RG Gold to the Chinese company Zijin Mining Group for $1.2 billion, although the Kazakh side did not disclose the exact amount. Considering that the Utemuratov family owned 65% of the shares, their profit amounted to about 422 billion tenge.

As of the beginning of 2024, RG Gold had assets of 153 billion tenge and minimal debts, making the sale profitable for Utemuratov.

[b]Punishment of the Akim for Insulting a Citizen

The akim of the Novopokrovsky rural district received a fine for insulting a local resident, reports Skifnews.kz.

The court recognized his actions as petty hooliganism and imposed a fine of 55,000 tenge. He also violated the Code of Ethics for Public Servants.

Simonenko explained that his emotional reaction was triggered by residents' complaints about noise from motorcyclists. Video surveillance evidence confirmed the offense, although the young man refused to admit guilt.

Simonenko expressed regret for his words and noted that his behavior does not correspond to the high status he previously held when he was recognized as one of the best akims.
