Asian Paradise Flycatcher
Status: VI, Near Threatened: NT: R. One species of the Monarchidae family in the fauna of Kyrgyzstan [36]. The subspecies Terpsiphone paradisi leucogaster (Swainson, 1838) is found here.
Distribution in general and in the country. Found in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. In Kyrgyzstan, it is at the southeastern edge of the species' range. It is distributed across the Western Tien Shan, possibly in the western part of the Talas and Kyrgyz ridges [2].
Habitat. Inhabits deciduous forests and gardens along water bodies and mountain rivers.
Population. Unknown in the republic, but it is quite a common bird in suitable habitats. Common in adjacent territories.
Life style (life cycles). Breeding period is extended. The clutch usually contains 2-3 eggs.
Limiting factors. Unknown.
Breeding (captivity). No data available.
Existing conservation measures. Protected in the Sary-Chelek and Padyshatinsky reserves, included in the Red Book of the Kyrgyz SSR since 1985, as well as the Tajik SSR. No special conservation measures are being implemented. Hunting is not permitted.
Recommended conservation measures. Not developed. Additional research is needed to establish the species' range in the republic and determine its population and conservation status.

Status: VI category, Near Threatened, NT: R. Occurs in Western Tien Shan, probably in western part of Talas Mountainous Ridge. Breeds in deciduous forests and orchards along lakes and rivers. No data on numbers are available, although it is quite a common bird in suitable habitats. Lays 2-3 eggs. Included in the current Kyrgyz Red Book of 1985. It is recommended to conduct additional research on species issues, such as area, distribution, and numbers.
